About the Painting from the the Artist:
"As a parent I feel like we are gifted these beautiful moments with our children. Sometimes their small glimmers and other times there are full blown light shows of beauty. 
 
This image is from 2022 when vacationing in Maine with my husband and son at West Quoddy Head State Park. We spent hours walking around, looking at the lighthouse, and my son loved throwing rocks in the water from the shoreline. This activity kept his joy and attention for close to an hour (which for a 2-year-old is a long time). 
 
This image really stuck with me and I had to paint it. This beautiful sense of childhood wonder by something so simple was a big reminder for me to slow down sometimes. In life I am constantly go-go-go and in this moment, I could have easily packed my son up and said “let’s move to the next thing” but instead, we waited and allowed him the chance to encounter something as beautiful and exciting as throwing a rock in the water (something, that despite a whole vacation of fun things, he said was his favorite activity - I would agree). 
 
I hope this painting is a reminder to you to stop, and enjoy the beauty around us before constantly moving to the next “thing”. After all, life happens in the in-between." -Evelyn
