This 11"x14" sheep print is a high quality picture of an original oil painting on canvas by Evelyn Teti.
About the Painting from the Artist:
"I spent my whole childhood growing up on a small sheep farm. Every spring we had lambs and chores typically consisted of caring for our sheep (and occassionally mucking out a pen or two as punishment). While some may think that this translates to an automatic love for this animal, sheep were always what I thought of as kind of a dumb animal (although cute when little). They often got their heads stuck in a fence, only to turn around after being rescued and get re-stuck somewhere else. These animals are timid, vulnerable, and dependent on their shepherds to keep them safe.
While I was painting the original painting, I kept thinking of the parable of the lost sheep (Matthew 18:12-14). When a man has a 100 sheep and when one goes astray he leaves the mountains in search of the one that is lost. Jesus uses this parable to teach us the principle that God is concerned about the one. He looks at every individual and says "I want them. I will go after that one that has gone astray."
I hope this painting is a reminder to you, as it is to me, that not only is God concerned about us, but he reminds and challenges us to reach out to the one that is atray. Maybe that's a lost relationship, a lost friend, a lost loved one. I hope this is an encouragement and challenge to reach out to someone who needs it." -Evelyn
